Villach, December 19, 2024 – Small gifts, big joy: With the "Christmas Wish Tree" campaign, Infineon employees are fulfilling the heartfelt wishes of children and young people from socio-educational institutions in the region for the seventh time this year. 922 presents were ceremoniously handed over in the presence of Infineon Austria CEO Sabine Herlitschka and Chief Production Officer Thomas Reisinger.

Together with the eight regional institutions Amica Jugendbetreuung, Diakonie de La Tour, JOSEFINUM, Haus Antonius, SOS-Kinderdorf Moosburg, Kinder- und Jugendhilfe Villach, Kinder- und Jugendwohngemeinschaften Contraste, Pro Juventute Steiermark and Pro Juventute Oberösterreich, the Infineon wish tree team organized the campaign. The heartfelt wishes were lovingly created by the children and young people and arrived at Infineon in the form of individual Christmas cards. The wishes range from games and books to clothing and cuddly toys. Each gift arrives exactly where it is eagerly awaited: Children and young people in social institutions. Over the past seven years, a total of 4,000 wishes have been fulfilled.

Sabine Herlitschka, CEO of Infineon Austria: "As a leading company with regional ties, supporting social projects and educational issues is an essential part of our corporate philosophy. I am very pleased that our employees fully support this with their commitment. As Infineon, we can bring real joy with this. Special thanks go to the entire team that organizes and implements this campaign."

New Christmas angel at Infineon Austria

The “Christmas Wish Tree” campaign was launched in 2018 by Kornelia Geiger, Project Manager at Infineon Austria, who will be taking her well-deserved retirement next year: "'The secret of happiness is not in possession, but in giving. If you make others happy, you become happy. For me, the Christmas Wish Tree is a project that is close to my heart, one that creates deep meaning and can bring joy and solidarity, especially at Christmas time. I am delighted that this campaign has also become an integral part of the hearts of Infineon employees. Their commitment is truly impressive. Each and every wish-fulfiller also gives the gift of happy moments."

From next year, Daniela Pobeheim will take over the coordination of the social Christmas project and will continue to make children's eyes light up.
