Fresh start in a new millenium
Just in time for the turn of the millennium, everything changes at Siemens Bauelemente OHG, which is now called Infineon Technologies Villach AG. EZM becomes a 100 % subsidiary with the catchy name Infineon Technologies Microelectronic Design Centers Austria GmbH.
In order to start the new Infineon life in style, the production team at the Villach site processed more than one million wafers in one year for the first time. A record for Siemens, but only the beginning for Infineon.
