EZ-PD™ CCG2 USB-C 20W Power Adapter Solution

The CCG2 20W Power Adapter (PA) Board is a receptacle based Type-C power adapter which supports outputs of 5V@3A and 9V@2.2A. The two major components on the board are Infineon’s EZ-PD™ CCG2 (CYPD2134-24LQXIT) controller and Power Integrations’ InnoSwitch-CP INN2215K AC-DC controller.

The CCG2 device on the PA board handles USB Type-C interface and PowerDelivery (PD) 2.0. The AC-DC power conversion, Over Current Protection (OCP) and Over Voltage Protection (OVP) are handled by Power Integrations’ InnoSwitch-CP AC-DC controller, which supports universal AC input supply. Infineon has hardware files (schematic, bill of materials and board files) readily available below for customers to reduce the design cycle. The Design Example Report includes the power adapter specifications along with the bill of materials (BOM).
