CAPSENSE™ Proximity Shield

This kit guide provides details on the kit (CY8CKIT-024)contents, hardware, schematics, and BOM. This kit is intended to demonstrate the proximity-sensing capabilities of the CAPSENSE™ technology in PSoC™ products.
 
The CY8CKIT-024 CAPSENSE™ Proximity Shield is an Arduino-compatible evaluation platform for CAPSENSE™-based proximity sensing solutions. The shield is designed to work with all of the PSoC™ Pioneer kits.

The CY8CKIT-024 CAPSENSE™ Proximity Shield enables you to evaluate the proximity sensing capabilities of Infineon's industry-leading CAPSENSE™ solutions. Designed to work with the PSoC™ Pioneer kits, you can evaluate advanced proximity sensing features including Liquid Tolerance, Wake-On-Approach and Gesture Detection using the 5 proximity loops on the CY8CKIT-024.

With the CY8CKIT-024 CAPSENSE™ Proximity Shield, Infineon is taking proximity detection to the next level, by providing users with three dimensional gesture recognition capabilities. The example projects shipped with the shield provides users with the ability to measure proximity in the X, Y, and Z directions.

PSoC™ 4, featuring the low-power Cortex-M0 core combined with PSoC™'s unique programmable mixed-signal hardware IP, resulting in the industry's most flexible and scalable low-power mixed-signal architecture. The CY8CKIT-024 is designed to work with the PSoC™ Pioneer kits (CY8CKIT-040 and CY8CKIT-042) allowing you to prototype advanced systems which feature proximity sensing capabilities (for e.g. a motor control system which is controlled by gestures).
