About HITFET™ + 12V automotive smart low-side switches
Infineon's HITFET™ + 12V smart low-side switches are qualified and optimized for 12 V automotive and industrial applications such as power steering systems, motor control, lighting, HVAC systems, and power distribution. The HITFET™ + 12V family offers single-channel devices with up to 50% shrinkage and better short-circuit robustness, among other additional and improved features compared to its predecessor family, Classic HITFET™ 12V.
HITFET™ + 12V devices offer an integrated protection function that safeguards against overcurrent, overtemperature, and short-circuit events. All HITFET™ + 12V devices have an auto-restart thermal shutdown function. The overvoltage protection can be activated during load dump or inductive turn-off. Moreover, HITFET™ + 12V switches can drive applications with high switching speed requirements and have a dedicated STATUS signal for offering digital diagnosis.
HITFET™ + 12V automotive smart low-side switches product family
The HITFET™ + 12V portfolio comprises single-channel devices with an RDS(ON) range from 10.7 mΩ to 110 mΩ and nominal current from 2 A to 10 A in TO-252 (DPAK-3 and DPAK-5) and TDSO-8 packages. The family offers versions with and without diagnosis and fast-switching (for applications with PWM up to 20 kHz).
HITFET™ +12V design support
Infineon offers a range of design-in materials, which include application notes, evaluation boards, PCB design data, simulation models, and online simulations. Those materials can be found on each product page in the "Design Support" section. In addition, we offer a dedicated tool suite for smart power switches and gate driver ICs for automotive power distribution.
Infineon’s Smart Power Switches & Gate Driver Tool Suite support system architects and hardware designers from idea to realization. This suite allows users to select the right smart power switch or gate driver IC for a specific load using one of the “Finder & Selection” tools. Together with the different “Simulation & Modeling” tools, various application scenarios can be simulated for the respective product. The results can be documented in the report tool and verified with the “Configuration” tools plus the corresponding evaluation boards.
