Rainer Westermann Takes Over as Head of Corporate Communications at Infineon Technologies

Munich, Germany – July 6, 2004 – Rainer Westermann (52) will take over as Head of Corporate Communications at Infineon Technologies starting October 15, 2004. In a successful career spanning more than 25 years, Westermann has worked as a communications professional in Germany, Canada and the USA and draws on extensive experience in corporate communications work for technology companies. He comes to Infineon from the PR agency Burson-Marsteller.

Before taking over as CEO of Burson-Marsteller, Germany in 2001, Westermann was responsible for the strategic direction of financial communications at LHS Group Inc., Atlanta, USA, where he was a Member of the Management Board and the designated public spokesperson of the NASDAQ- and Neuer Markt-listed software company.

Rainer Westermann is experienced in all aspects of communications and has worked internationally since 1977 as a strategist, consultant and implementer of communications policies for companies, governments and other organizations.
