Automotive body control module (BCM)
Comprehensive product portfolio for scalable and flexible body control unit solutions in cars
Increased body functions and trim-level variations in vehicles necessitate flexible and scalable product families for the body control module (BCM) platform. For instance, seat modules may offer multiple functionalities but vary based on vehicle type. Combine the essential functions of an ECU: Supply, actuation, sensing, control, and communication with versatile and adaptable body control unit solutions.
Multi-faceted automotive body control modules for functional vehicle control
BCMs actuate, monitor, and control the vehicle's body functions and related electronic control units (ECU). Acting as the brain of the vehicle's body, body control modules manage car functions like lighting, windows, door locks, seat controls, and more. Infineon's advanced BCM solutions offer robust performance, reliability, and scalability, empowering car manufacturers to enhance vehicle functionality and provide a seamless and intuitive driving experience. With Infineon's body control module designs, vehicles are equipped with intelligent control systems that optimize comfort, convenience, and safety.
Smart BCM: Safer, smoother driving with greater function and comfort
The body control module combines all six core functionalities of an electronic control unit:
- Supply of the module with Infineon Supply ICs from various product families: OPTIREG™ Linear, OPTIREG™ Switcher, and OPTIREG™ SBC (system basic chip with integrated low-drop voltage regulator or DC-DC).
- Actuation of the vehicle function loads with power ICs from various product families: PROFET™+2, PROFET™ Load Guard, Power PROFET™, SPOC™+2, SPIDER+, HITFET™+, LITIX™, MOTIX™ multi MOSFET gate driver ICs, and MOSFETs.
- Sensing with magnetic sensors from the XENSIV™ family (and monitoring in the BCM) or integrated into the power ICs. For car access, Infineon offers transceivers and receivers in Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) and Passive Keyless Entry (PKE).
- Control of the whole vehicle body with Traveo™ T2G and AURIX™ microcontrollers.
- Communication with other car functions via the vehicle bus system by LIN or CAN/CAN FD transceiver families or integrated with supply into the system basic chip family.
- High-performance flash memory solutions from the Semper™ NOR Flash families.
Customized driving experience with versatile body control module units
