Shravan's Story
Accelerating time-to-market with reference designs
Shravan came to Infineon in 2021 as an intern while he completed his thesis. In 2022, he was appointed Senior Product Application Engineer in Munich. His daily tasks include combining embedded systems knowledge with technical marketing skills, drawing on his sense of curiosity and enthusiasm to fill market gaps with Infineon products – helping to improve efficiency and drive sales in the process.
Shravan in five words:
Enthusiast Foodie Volunteer SolutionFinder InnovatorAs an Application Engineer, I work with an international team of experts in both software and hardware. My daily focus is gaining expertise in embedded motor control software, understanding the market’s technical requirements, and supporting customers if they face issues. I also help them with debugging, contribute to improving the efficiency of embedded software, and prepare application notes for ready-to-use products.
Application engineers design new applications that are ready for customers to use. We have created reference designs for automotive water pumps, oil pumps and engine cooling fans. We have also helped customers worldwide to debug their hardware and software issues- find more information here.
I enjoy the enthusiastic team spirit and promising new products at Infineon.
As the company is very big and there are a lot of people working on dedicated specific tasks, it is challenging to maintain a bird’s eye view. In my role, I have to collaborate with low- and high-level software departments, hardware design departments, and the marketing department.
I am inspired by a problem-solving, motivating work atmosphere, teamwork, and learning opportunities.
Application engineering is an exciting job as it covers different kinds of tasks, such as development, application board testing, documentation, and customer consulting. Our customers are located worldwide, so engaging with them calls for good cultural awareness. It never gets boring!
Nora's Story
Tackling new challenges – every day!
Nora joined Infineon in 2017 as part of the dual study program, upskilling to the position of Senior Product Application Engineer at the Munich site in 2022. Good communication skills and an ability to multitask come in extremely useful in her capacity as the technical contact for questions about the embedded product series she supports. She also provides technical support, and is involved in many steps in the lifecycle, from development through testing to customer consultation.
Nora in five words:
SportsEnthusiast Volunteer Protagonist Communicator ConsultantThere are many special things about working at Infineon. It is a multicultural company with many career possibilities; a place to be inspired and achieve a good work-life balance.
As part of my tasks, I am involved in the development process, and I also test application boards, prepare documentation, and consult with customers on our embedded power ICs with a focus on the 4x series. Every day, I work with different departments and various kinds of people, as well as tackling new challenges.
With our device (TLE984x), we provide a system-on-chip solution for motor control, used in a wide range of motor control applications, such as engine cooling fans or HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) blowers.
I enjoy acquiring wide-ranging know-how, getting to know and working with different kinds of people/departments, and traveling.
New tasks and challenges come up on a regular basis. It is important to prioritize well and maintain a clear overview.
I am inspired by ambitious and honest people with unique characters; people who know what they want in life but also set the right priorities and know where to set boundaries.
I work with a team that focuses on mass market applications for our automotive microcontroller products. My work revolves around developing configuration tools to enable end users to get started quickly with our microcontrollers, without having to read thousands of pages of user manuals.
Shahzeb's Story
Promoting mass market adoption of MCUs
A sense of curiosity about new technologies and open-mindedness brought Shahzeb to Infineon at Campeon, in Munich, in 2022. As a Principal Application Engineer, his job is to develop configuration tools for Infineon’s microcontroller products that promote ease of use. As part of the technical marketing team, his overarching goal is to drive market enablement.
Shahzeb in five words:
Foodie Tinkerer SolutionFinder Developer PhotographInfineon has one of the best automotive microcontroller portfolios on the market and I enjoy the opportunity to work on developing software tools for these products in a multicultural and open-minded team.
My daily focus is on software product architecture definition and concept development.
Within Technical Marketing (TM) of Automotive Microcontrollers, I work in the Market Enablement Team focusing on ease of use and digitalization. One of our major goals is to promote mass market adoption of our microcontroller products.
I really like collaborating with colleagues who believe in the products we make and are enthusiastic about the work we do.
Studying and understanding the functionality of, and rationale behind, existing software products with many years of history and adapting this derived knowledge to new products, while keeping changing architectures and end user requirements in mind is a big challenge.
