Infineon is a unique company that is not afraid to give employees at all levels impactful and challenging projects to own and take them to the finish line, which is something I appreciate and enjoy as well. Infineon inspires me to keep innovating and working towards the best version of myself.

Jaya's Story
Building trust to navigate challenges
Director Applications Engineering in Bangalore, India, since 2022, Jaya is convinced that creativity, innovation and trust-building fuel growth within an organization. Her team’s work supports the marketing teams by developing IoT Compute and Wireless solutions for end-customer applications. She also believes that speed is essential in adapting to new situations and finding solutions to real-life work problems. She joined the company in 2007 as an Application Engineer.
Jaya in five words:
StrategicThinker Leader Executive Pioneer SportsEnthusiastMy team builds innovative solutions that cross-sell state-of the-art Infineon products, with a focus on highlighting ICW value propositions for end-customer applications. We thus support the marketing team in achieving their revenue targets.
Example #1: Supported to bring first-of-its-kind innovative smart ring to market. Details here in this LinkedIn post
Example #2: My team developed this Infineon smart home solution
1. Developing innovative, customer-friendly solutions using state-of-the-art Infineon products.
2. Helping the marketing team to engage with customers better by sharing the deep technical know-how required to refine and pitch high-quality solutions.
The responsibility of steering end-to-end solution architecture and development in a technologically complex domain has challenged my leadership skills and enhanced my ability to guide my team. My major ideas and influences revolve around building and maintaining trust to guide people through challenges, risks, and changes, as well as their daily work. Without trust, I may be able to persuade or force people to comply, but they’ll never tap into the full commitment, capabilities, and creativity the group as a whole can offer.
Time is precious ‒ late means the opportunity is gone. Perfection has no limits and I believe everything has its own imperfections and it’s totally OK! Imperfections can be fixed later if you want, but you will never get that time back. “Good is better than the best.”
As a System Application Engineer, I support our customers in selecting the best products for automotive traction inverters and in solving their technical challenges – all of which is helping to make green mobility become a reality.
Giovanni's Story
Connecting with experts and customers
Giovanni joined Infineon Milan in 2016 as a Field Application Engineer, moving on to the role of Regional (EMEA) System Application Engineer for Main Traction Inverter in 2021. Building on his technical competence at system level, his mission is to provide optimal support to Infineon’s customers. Open and curious, he enjoys engaging with customers and his international team.
Giovanni in five words:
ProblemSolver KnowledgeSharer Consultant SubjectMatterExpert MusicianI love the opportunity to meet colleagues from all over the world and the strong company focus on diversity and work-life balance.
My daily job is about training and supporting our sales teams and customers in technical system discussions about automotive traction inverters.
There are many design choices and constraints to be taken into consideration in the design-in phase of an automotive traction inverter. I support our sales teams and customers in selecting the best-fitting components, and I help them solve their technical challenges with reference designs, application notes, and other technical documentation – working in collaboration with my colleagues in the product lines.
I enjoy working on electronics systems and architectures that will be implemented in cars over the next few years. I also like having regular customer interactions and connecting with many different experts to discuss technical topics from different points of view.
As is often the case within big organizations, there can be many internal alignment meetings before a final decision is taken, and this can require more time than expected.
When dealing with customers, it is very important to be reliable and respect the committed deadlines; a partial or good-enough answer is much better than ghosting while waiting for the perfect reply.
System Application Engineers are the superheroes of Technical Marketing at Infineon – this is the job description I was given on my first day. And in many ways, it’s true!

Creating cool and appealing demonstrators for specific applications to support design-in or design-win.
The alignment between various teams and departments within a specific project to provide support and create added value for the customer.
Business trip to one of the biggest automotive OEMs in Germany, presenting a state-of-the-art LED headlight solution. It was an intense but very positive and rewarding experience, where team members of different functions and locations came together, not only to present an Infineon system solution, but also with a strong team spirit and demonstrating passion to the customer.
Technology products have become an essential part of our everyday lives. People are always looking for simple but multifunctional products. Together with my teams, we work to deliver on those expectations.

I work in the power delivery team. One of my main tasks is implementing features like high-speed data transmission, flexible power provisioning, and reduced wire demands on our power delivery microcontrollers.
I am dedicated to the implementation of Type-C PD in devices like laptops, monitors, and phones. For more details about Type-C PD, please refer to Link.
At Infineon, I am responsible for developing a power delivery controller now considered mainstream in many different products – the Type-C port. Given the high market share that Infineon solution enjoy, the outcome of our work reaches all over the world.
In addition to developing the firmware, clarifying and solving customer queries can be challenging. Fortunately, I work with excellent and experienced colleagues who can either give me useful suggestions or share similar debugging experiences. So ultimately, I have no big worries about work challenges.
My first job was working for the same company for 8 years. I would advise the young me to bravely step outside my comfort zone, always stay curious, look into different fields of work, and learn different skills and knowledge by deep diving into different products. This approach would help develop even more skills, experience different cultures, and build up a wider social network.
As an application engineer, my daily work is to deliver our best-in-class system solutions to customers. My team proudly turns challenges into opportunities, leveraging the potential of digitalization to drive energy efficiency globally.
Alan's Story
Bringing innovation and new ideas together
Alan joined Infineon in Hong Kong as a Field Application Engineer, switched to the System Application Engineer field in 2020 and has been a Principal Engineer since April 2022. With his enthusiastic and curious mindset, he enjoys building on his application know-how to develop wider technical skills. He values flexibility in exploring new methods or approaches to his work.
Alan in five words:
Enthusiast Creative Thinker Potential Enlarger Coach Sports EnthusiastInfineon is an open-minded company with great technical teams, where innovation and new ideas come together.
I develop application solutions, as demos/kits or reference designs, to enable regional customers.
The chief results are Infineon products such as digital gate-driver IC and motor drive controllers and low-to-medium voltage power MOSFET devices, used in service robotics and drone markets.
Developing the local system competence team (SCT) team for battery-powered application (BPA) in Greater China.
Infineon products are managed by different product lines (PL) or divisions. Each has a dedicated application team that handles the individual products. It can be very complex if we need to develop a system with cross-PL/division collaboration.
Infineon is a company where you can work smart. It provides me with a more flexible way of exploring new methods or approaches to completing my tasks. I can start with better planning and evaluation before the actual work takes place.
