#WeAreIn to make sense of data by turning problems into opportunities. Are you in?
Join us as Data Scientist.
As a data scientist, I solve manufacturing problems by applying machine learning algorithms ‒ for example, by predicting the remaining useful lifetime of an equipment component. The insights gained help us to become more efficient ‒ and efficiency is key.
Andreas' Story
Efficiency is key
Andreas has been a Staff Engineer Data Science at Infineon Villach, Austria since 2021. He joined Infineon in 2015. He builds on his analytical thinking skills and methodological competency, supported by data and machine learning algorithms, to solve various manufacturing challenges in close collaboration with expert colleagues from different lines of business.

TrustedAdvisor Gamer Optimizer Stockbroker AnalystData analysis, mainly developing SQL statements and Python programs. Also, checking the plausibility of my work by discussing results with colleagues.
Tableau reports, which display vital information instead of just data that was previously difficult to access for maintenance and process engineers. Currently, I am working on predicting the outcome (success or failure) of a manufacturing process by applying machine learning algorithms.
When I get a call in the morning to say that something I created is suddenly not working anymore! This shows me that they need it regularly and miss it when it’s gone, because it makes their life easier.
Efficiently getting data into the shape that I need it in, so I can use it for the task at hand. This is usually an iterative process though, as I continuously learn more and more about the dataset ‒ and the underlying process the data represents.
I am proud when a colleague that I look up to asks me to be a sparring partner. This demonstration of appreciation keeps me motivated. And it’s always more fun to face tough problems together.
My vision is to provide an easy-to-use artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem for engineers so they can develop and deploy AI/ML solutions.
Vikas' Story
Strengthening Infineon’s position in the AI/ML space
Having joined Infineon in Bangalore, India, in 2017, Vikas has now advanced to the position of Senior Staff Data Scientist. His focus is on developing the AI/ML algorithms, solutions, and infrastructure capable of solving the challenges facing the semiconductor industry. With an optimistic outlook, he brings endurance and an entrepreneurial spirit to his work.
Vikas in five words:
Foodie Enthusiast SolutionFinder TechGeek EntrepreneurInfineon provides an entrepreneurial and open-minded environment to work in. You have the flexibility to work with the latest technologies and have full responsibility for the work you are doing.
As a Senior Staff Data Scientist, I lead the applied machine learning (ML) team in Bangalore. My vision is to provide an easy-to-use artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem for engineers so they can develop and deploy AI/ML solutions. As such, my daily focus is on providing and enabling an AI/ML infrastructure across Infineon to help business units accelerates the ML experimentation process. As an ML thought leader, I focus on strategic opportunities and product improvements capable of solidifying Infineon’s AI/ML position in the semiconductor industry.
My main tasks are:
- Develop AI/ML algorithms to enhance process efficiency and reduce time-to-market.
- Build common AI/ML process and methodologies across Infineon to develop any AI solution.
- Enable a common AI/ML infrastructure across Infineon to develop/deploy AI/ML solutions.
We developed multiple tools across the organization to help business units improve their productivity and process efficiency. For example, an AI Infrastructure tool to help units develop their AI/ML solutions, as well as a search engine, chatbots, and analytical tools based on natural language processing.
- Varied work assignments and an enthusiastic team
- Working on the latest tech stack
As the company is very big with lots of departments working on dedicated tasks, it is challenging to leverage synergies across different departments to develop common technologies like AI (artificial intelligence), ML (machine learning), etc.
Open, honest, and motivating atmosphere at Infineon. This helps a lot with my work. Infineon provides an environment where you can work with freedom and come up with innovative ideas. Management is always willing to listen.
As a Data Scientist at the Business Analytics Center of Competence, I partner, ideate, formulate, implement, and deploy consumable artificial intelligence (AI) solutions. It feels great to be part of Infineon’s AI and digitalization journey.
Annamalai's Story
Making AI a talking point
Annamalai started his journey at Infineon Singapore as an Intern in 2015, moving on to become a Senior Data Scientist in 2019. His main task is to partner with the business to understand the pain points and provide data-driven artificial intelligence (AI) solutions. Key to the success of his journey at Infineon is striving for excellence and the ability to build good relationships.
