People do their best work when they enjoy their jobs. At Infineon we established four distinct career paths to cater individual competency, role and growth opportunities. Explore our careers: Individual Contributor, Technical Ladder, Project Management and Management Career. The career paths show you development perspectives and flexible career opportunities. They describe typical requirements and expectations and point out suitable development opportunities so that you have the chance to actively shape your career into all directions, together with your manager and aligned with the company requirements.
Individual Contributor Career
This career path is aimed at employees who contribute to Infineon's success, particularly through their specific expertise. Examples can be found in almost all areas of the company. What they all have in common is that they act as specialists, contribute to specialist topics from implementation to taking full responsibility, and thus each person on this career path contributes to Infineon's business excellence.

I align pricing strategies, guide sales teams, and consult on contract negotiations, resulting in internal happy stakeholders and a healthy segment result."
“As Senior Manager I take the reins for our global Performance Management Process that engages all employees worldwide to make a meaningful impact on our organization's performance and development. In this role, I have the autonomy to define the future development and coordinate efforts globally. My focus is on guiding local responsible colleagues, continuously improving the process, and adapting it to new situations."
Technical Ladder Career
Tomorrow’s technology is being developed today. We want to create added value as an innovation leader with superior technical expertise. Our goal is to offer our customers, employees and shareholders the best - everywhere and at all times. The Technical Ladder was designed for dedicated scientists and technicians who wish to become experts in their field. Benefit from our tailored training and development offerings. Your ideas influence our future.
“As a product designer, I am responsible for ensuring the successful ramp-up to high volume production and securing quality. A year after joining Infineon, I was able to start my vocational career within the Technical Ladder. After taking time out to start a family I was promoted to Senior Staff Engineer – part time!"
“As a Fellow finishing up the Technical Ladder, I feel like it’s my responsibility to connect external and internal experts. I’ve been lucky enough to see and shape three paradigm changes in the automotive environment – I’m proud of my experience."
"My success within the Technical Ladder is based on my fascination for technology and my social skills. After all, I can only turn my ideas into reality if I can convince others of their viability and value. This is how I make my visions come true!”
Project Management Career
The best ideas would never turn into anything without dedicated project managers. To succeed, projects need someone with a master plan. Someone who makes sure we meet deadlines and reach milestones. Someone with a handle on everything and everyone. Our Project Management career path has been designed with those kinds of personalities in mind. You either bring the required certifications with you – or gain them with us.
“I have a great deal of variety in my work. Being a Project Manager requires me to react to changing situations instantly. I coordinate a team of experts – I like to connect different people and get the best out of them on the way to reaching our common goal. This job allows you to learn new stuff every single day.”
“After 16 years, I left Infineon to gain new experiences. The Senior Project Manager position was the perfect opportunity for me to rejoin the company. It allows me to use my talents – as a manager, planner and supervisor, as an analytical thinker, and as someone who is patient and always focused on my customers.”
“Being a Senior Project Manager allows me to combine all my strengths: a technical background, precise planning skills, and my love of connecting and motivating my colleagues to achieve our goals together. When my son started school, it was no problem to take a six-month sabbatical to be there for him. We both enjoyed that a lot! Now I’m back at my job, full of energy.”
Management Career
Are you an effective and enthusiastic leader? You should think about a Management Career with us. We will provide the training you need along the way. Becoming a leader means taking responsibility for a variety of roles and tasks in one position - from making strategic and operational decisions, setting priorities, building structures and processes, to the core of the management career path: leading people to achieve peak performance together.
“I’ve always been happy to take on responsibility and make decisions. It’s all about passion and leadership, and a little bit about emotional intelligence. I have a clear idea of where I want to go with my team. I have high expectations of my colleagues, which I communicate clearly. I trust that we can achieve anything by working together. I want them to see what they’re capable of, so they can realize their full potential.”
“Infineon was always very confident in what I could achieve: The next steps were big, but never too big. That’s how I managed to grow from training as an industrial manager to becoming a Director in the Finance department. Some of my stops along the way: a clerk position in Regensburg – going to Asia with the Junior Talent Program – Munich headquarters – first leadership position as a Controlling Manager in Malaysia. I currently lead a team of 17 people across five international locations. The training courses and, above all, the personal support of my superiors helped me grow in my career.”
“I knew Infineon was right for me when I got hired during my pregnancy. My first impression was spot-on: There is a lot of support here for me and my family. Childcare and flexible working times are as much part of this as are the support we received during a two-year stint in Singapore."
