High-efficiency 65 W USB-C dual-port charger reference design with ATQ transformer
The reference design REF_65W_2C_GAN_PAG1 was developed for USB-PD multiport charger application with a wide input range and out voltage from 3.3 V to 21 V. Each USB-C port output power is 65 W capability, while the two USB-C ports’ total output power is 65 W and can share dynamically based on the connected devices.
It features Infineon’s EZ-PD™ PAG1P/PAG1S controllers as primary and secondary controllers, EZ-PD™ CCG7DC controller as PD and DCDC controller, CoolGaN™ 600 V GIT HEMTs as the main switch, OptiMOS™ N-channel MOSFET serving as the SR switch, OptiMOS™ 6 as the DCDC switch, and BSZ0902NS OptiMOS™ as VBUS switch.
The board has a dimension of 56 mm x 27 mm x 33 mm and a power density of 21.34 W/in³. The board fulfills the efficiency requirement from DOE Level VI. The design is used ATQ transformer which offers high-efficiency operation with peak 92+ % under full load.
