Collapse all subcategories Expand all subcategoriesAutomotive PSOC™ 4 is a scalable and reconfigurable platform architecture designed for programmable embedded system controllers. The microcontroller family is AEC-Q100 compliant and features an ARM® Cortex®-M0+ CPU. It combines programmable and reconfigurable analog and digital blocks with flexible automatic routing. It is a combination of a microcontroller with standard communication and timing peripherals, capacitive sensing technology (CAPSENSE™) with best-in-class performance, programmable general-purpose continuous-time, switched-capacitor analog blocks, and programmable connectivity.
Infineon's best-in-class touch-sensing with PSOC™ Automotive
PSOC™ Automotive microcontrollers integrate Infineon's best-in-class capacitive touch-sensing system for demanding human machine interface (HMI), as well as smart sensing applications along with an Arm® Cortex®-M0/M0+ CPU, flash, and memory. A programmable analog front-end with ADC, operational amplifiers, low-power comparators combined with digital blocks, and various communication interfaces such as SENT, LIN, CAN, and CAN FD provide a single-chip smart sensor with high integration and a small footprint. An extended development ecosystem has been built around PSOC™ Automotive including multiple software compatibility and the famous PSOC™ Creator software, an easy-to-use IDE that introduces a game-changing schematic entry design methodology. These devices are also supported in ModusToolBox™ which is provided as a collection of development tools, libraries, and embedded runtime assets.
System benefits of Automotive PSOC™ 4
Scalability:
- We have a complete portfolio with maximum memory and I/O integration. Up to 84 pins of analog and digital GPIOs are available in our vast package lineup.
Connectivity:
- Our Automotive PSOC™ 4 portfolio offers a new variety of on-chip peripherals and high-speed communications from fast I2C, CAN and CAN FD to segment LCD, and up to five SCBs.
Safety and security:
- Our ISO 26262-ready PSOC™ 4 Automotive devices have comprehensive supporting documents and FMEDA for multiple devices. We also offer enhanced cryptography with a dedicated hardware security block to support AES, SHA, TRNG, PRNG, and CRC functions.
Capacitive and inductive sensing:
- We support multiple data collection methods from touch to resistive or current sensors with our dual MSC CAPSENSE™ blocks. Our inductive sensing enables metal deflection (metal buttons/keypads), proximity detection, angular detection, and flow detection.
Temperature:
- We offer AEC-Q100 grade 3, 2, and 1 support with a mission profile of up to +150°C.
EMI/EMC:
- Infineon‘s EMI/EMC tests show that PSOC™ 4 meets the most challenging automotive EMC specifications like ISO 11452-2 (RI), IEC61967-4 (CE), IEC62132-4 (CI), and CISPR 25 (RE).
Easy-to-use software for prototyping end applications
ModusToolbox™
ModusToolbox™ Software is a modern, extensible development environment supporting a wide range of Infineon microcontroller devices, including automotive PSOC™ 4. Itoffers a variety of code repositories on GitHub that are comprehensive, flexible, and atomic. This means that you will have access to all of the resources you need, can use them in your own workflow, and obtain only those resources which are necessary for your project. These repositories include board support packages (BSPs), low-level resources like a hardware abstraction layer (HAL) and peripheral driver library (PDL), and middleware that enables industry-leading features such as CAPSENSE™.
PSOC™ Creator
PSOC™ Creator is an integrated design environment (IDE) that enables concurrent hardware and firmware editing, compiling, and debugging of PSOC™ and FM0+ systems. Applications are created using schematic capture and over 150 pre-verified, production-ready peripheral components.
