Automotive PSOC™ 4 M series subcategories
Automotive PSOC™ 4 M series is an expansion to the PSOC™ 4 portfolio and includes more programmable analog and digital blocks, expanded memory, new peripherals, and a higher number of I/Os for all your mixed-signal embedded requirements. Additionally, it has up to 128 KB flash and 16 KB SRAM, providing ample space for storage.
The family is an ideal solution for automotive HMI systems combining programmable and reconfigurable analog and digital blocks with flexible automatic routing for reliable capacitive touch-sensing and proximity-sensing solutions, even in harsh automotive environments.
Automotive PSOC™ 4 M series offers a wide range of features that reduce the total system cost and simplify the design process by integrating programmable analog front ends (AFEs) and programmable digital blocks. It features dual controller area network blocks (CAN 2.0), peripheral-to-peripheral direct memory access (DMA), and up to 51 I/Os that support analog, digital, LCD drive, and CAPSENSE™ touch-sensing interfaces.
Key features and benefits of Automotive PSOC™ 4 M series family
Automotive PSOC™ M series comes equipped with several key features that make it stand out in the market. It boasts a 48 MHz Arm® Cortex®-M0 CPU with a DMA controller and real-time clock (RTC) which allows for efficient and accurate processing of data.
One of the major advantages of the Automotive PSOC™ 4 M series is its programmable analog blocks. This includes two comparators (CMP), and four opamps, configurable as PGAs, CMPs, filters, and so on, allowing for flexibility in design. Also included is a 12-bit, 1 Msps SAR ADC.
Automotive PSOC™ M series also includes CAPSENSE™ with SmartSense™ auto-tuning which supports capacitive sensing on up to 51 pins.
In addition to the programmable analog blocks, the Automotive PSOC™ 4 M series also includes programmable digital blocks. This includes four universal digital blocks (UDBs) which can be used for creating custom digital peripherals. Additionally, the device includes 8x configurable 16-bit TCPWM blocks and four serial communication blocks (SCBs) which can be used for I2C master or slave, SPI master or slave, UART or LIN slave.
Available in different packages including 48-pin LTQFP, 64-pin TQFP, and 56-QNF, allowing for flexibility in design and implementation.
Easy-to-use software for prototyping end applications
ModusToolbox™
ModusToolbox™ Software is a modern, extensible development environment supporting a wide range of Infineon microcontroller devices, including automotive PSOC™ Arm® Cortex® Microcontrollers. Infineon's Modustoobox offers a variety of code repositories on GitHub that are comprehensive, flexible, and atomic. This means that you will have access to all of the resources you need, can use them in your own workflow, and obtain only those resources which are necessary for your project. These repositories include board support packages (BSPs), low-level resources like a hardware abstraction layer (HAL) and peripheral driver library (PDL), and middleware that enables industry-leading features such as CAPSENSE™.
PSOC™ Creator
PSOC™ Creator is an integrated design environment (IDE) that enables concurrent hardware and firmware editing, compiling, and debugging of PSOC™ and FM0+ systems. Applications are created using schematic capture and over 150 pre-verified, production-ready peripheral components.
