Highly integrated VCSEL driver ICs for small module size and low BoM
Infineon Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser (VCSEL) drivers have been developed with a focus on providing optimal power efficiency, fast switching and seamless integration into various applications. The devices can be implemented in 3D vision camera systems in combination with Infineon’s REAL3™ Time of Flight (ToF) imagers, or in line laser scanner (LDS) and other lidar systems. Precise and high-power turn-on characteristics make it an ideal illumination driver for any application needing accurate 3D depth measurements.
The driver ICs integrate an LVDS receiver, gate driver and switch components within a tiny package and can be fully powered by the anyway existing 3.3V imager power supply. As such, the VCSEL drivers allow for reduced number of components and less circuit complexity compared to discrete illumination transmitter concepts.
The Infineon illumination driver devices are suited for solutions based on VCSEL or LED.
The REAL3™ product portfolio also comprises ToF imagers for consumer applications and automotive applications.
