Infineon's MOTIX™ multi half-bridge ICs range from 2-fold half-bridge ICs to 12-fold half-bridge ICs.
The MOTIX™ TLE94xyz multi half-bridge ICs include the complete driver and output stage and are designed to drive small DC motors in various automotive applications. Depending on the output configuration sequential or parallel driving of several motors is possible. All products are equipped with several diagnostic and protection features.

Infineon’s portfolio of MOTIX™ multi half-bridge ICs
The product family concept of MOTIX™ TLE94xyz devices offer high flexibility and reduced design-in effort - all devices are pin and SW compatible. Reduced system cost and small PCB footprint (up to 85% smaller footprint) are achieved by integration of multiple drivers and power stages in one device and feature optimization to reduce external components. Infineon's MOTIX™ multi half-bridge ICs differentiate by an outstanding EMC concept and advanced diagnostic features for HS/LS level - improving overall system performance and reliability.
Infineon's MOTIX™ multi half-bridge ICs are driver ICs which include multiple half-bridges; no external MOSFETs are needed. Currently Infineon offers 8 products differentiating on the number of half-bridges (3 to 12), offering SPI and also direct interface.
Multi half-bridge ICs in automotive applications
Infineon's MOTIX™ multi half-bridge ICs are optimized but not limited to automotive brushed DC motor control applications as HVAC flap control with various numbers of motors, e.g. TLE94112ES, 12-fold half-bridge, is designed to either drive 6 DC motors up to 0.9 A in parallel mode or 11 DC motors up to 0.9 A in cascaded mode or up to 3 DC motors up to 1.8 A by paralleling two outputs each. Furthermore the MOTIX™ TLE94xyz family offers configurable outputs for LEDs and are also a perfect fit for mirror adjustment inclusive lighting in one device. The driver is connected via a 16-bit SPI to the microcontroller. The enhanced SPI protocol allows independent control and diagnosis of each half-bridge. All outputs can be programmed for PWM and the user can select between active and passive freewheeling for each output. The device can be operated in daisy chain mode.
Besides motor control, the MOTIX™ TLE94xyz family can drive any other inductive, capacitive and resistive loads within the device electrical characteristics such as monostable relays, bistable relays and can also control bipolar stepper motors in full-step and half-step mode.

The DC Motor Shield with MOTIX™ TLE94112ES is capable to drive up to 6 small DC motors in parallel mode or up to 11 DC motors in cascaded mode. All outputs can drive up to 0.9A.
