PROFET™ + 12V is a scalable family of 12V high-side smart power switches with protection features and diagnosis for automotive applications
PROFET™ + 12 V family is characterized by its high short-circuit robustness and drives currents from 0.5 A to 11 A. The whole PROFET™ + 12 V high-side switch IC product family is pin-to-pin compatible within the family as well as with the PROFET™ + 24 V family. These intelligent power devices (IPD) support resistive, capacitive and inductive loads with higher energy capability.

About PROFET™ + 12 V high-side smart power switch
Infineon’s PROFET™ + 12 V (PROtected FET) family consists of high-side smart power switches that provide state-of-the-art diagnostic and protection features such as:
- Very high short-circuit and energy robustness
- Protection against overload, overvoltage, and short-circuit
- Excessive temperature, loss of ground, power supply loss, and electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection.
In addition to the protection and diagnostic features, PROFET™ + 12 V has further benefits such as pin-compatibility of the PROFET™ + 12 V family with the PROFET™ + 24 V family and within each of the individual family devices.
About PROFET™ + 12 V high-side smart power switch family
Infineon’s PROFET™ +12 V (PROtected FET) family consists of single, dual, and four-channel protected high-side power switches in DSO-8 and DSO-14 exposed pad packages. With an RDS(on) from 8 mΩ to 200 mΩ, they are capable of driving loads from 0.5 A up to 1 A. The automotive-qualified high-side switches are well-established in the market. This universal family is highly short-circuit robust and resistant against high energy from inductive loads. This intelligent power device is used for a lot of applications such as motors, relay replacements, valves, heating elements, and also loads with high input capacitance.
PROFET™ + 12V are automotive qualified protected high-side power switches integrating a DMOS power transistor and CMOS logic circuitry.
The 12V smart high-side switches with SMART6 technology are available as single, dual and 4-channel devices and offer an RDSon range from 8 mΩ to 200 mΩ and are capable to drive are capable to drive loads from 0.5A up to 10A. Infineon’s PROFET™ + 12V are available with PG-DSO-8 and PG-DSO-14 exposed pad package.

- very low stand-by-current (<0,5 µA)
- PWM capability up to 200Hz

The results can be documented in the report tool and verified with “Configuration” tools plus corresponding evaluation boards.
