EZ-PD™ BCR (Barrel Connector Replacement) は、高度に統合されたUSB-C向けコントローラーで、USB-Cコネクターとともに、電子機器のバレルコネクター、カスタムコネクター、レガシーUSBコネクターを置き換えます。EZ-PD™ BCRソリューションは、USB Power Delivery (PD) 規格をサポートしており、ファームウェアの開発を必要とせず、すべてのUSB-C電源アダプタと相互運用が可能です。

欧州委員会が最近発表した 改正無線機器指令は、廃棄された互換性のない充電器による電子廃棄物を減らす目的で、ほぼ全ての電子機器の充電ポートの標準化を提案しています。この提案では、USB-Cを共通の充電ポートとして採用しており、消費者は機器のブランドに関係なく、同じUSB-C充電器で機器を充電することができます。共通の充電規格は、様々な急速充電技術を偏りや矛盾をなくすよう調和し、異なるブランドの充電器を使用する際に、不当な充電速度の制限を防止します。

また、共通の充電器を提案することで、電子機器の販売は充電器の販売から切り離され、消費者は新しい充電器がなくても新しい電子機器を購入できるようになります。これにより、不要な充電器の購入や放置が大幅に抑制され、最終的にはE-waste電子廃棄物の削減につながります。

最新のCoolGaN™ Integrated Power Stage (IPS) 600 Vは、市場で最も信頼性の高いGaN技術とドライバー技術を活用し、究極の効率性と信頼性を使いやすさとともに実現しています。GaN技術は、同じパワーレベルであれば、同じサイズまたはより小さな充電器で、より高いスイッチング周波数とより大きな出力を可能にします。その結果、非常に高い電力密度が得られ、このデバイスは急速充電器の設計において第一の選択肢となります。CoolGaN™は、シリコンデバイスと比較して、絶縁破壊電界が10倍、電子移動度が2倍に向上しています。CoolGaN™の高周波動作の鍵は、シリコンデバイスに比べて出力およびゲート電荷が10分の1に低減され、逆回復電荷がほぼゼロであることにあります。
