Stefan Rohringer to head Infineon's research and development centers in Austria

Villach, Graz, Linz October 1, 2024 - As of October 1, Infineon Austria is bundling its research and development centers in Villach, Graz and Linz under one management for the first time. Stefan Rohringer (60) takes over the position of Head of the Infineon Research and Development Centers in Austria. As "Country R&D Officer Austria", he coordinates the research strategy and R&D networks for Infineon in Austria. Previously, he headed the Infineon development center in Graz for 25 years.

The research and development (R&D) area at Infineon has developed enormously in recent years, both worldwide and in Austria, both in terms of research and innovation topics and the R&D team. Infineon Austria is now the second largest development location in the entire Group at country level.

In his new role as Head of the Infineon R&D Centers in Austria, Stefan Rohringer is responsible for the entire country-specific research strategy, the R&D infrastructure, R&D talent mentoring and network management with partners from business, science and research. He thus positions Infineon Austria's R&D strategy within the Group.

Stefan Rohringer studied computer science at the Vienna University of Technology and at the University of Delaware (USA). He has more than 30 years of expertise in innovation and technology development in the fields of micro- and nanoelectronics. From 1999 to September 2024, he headed the Infineon Development Center in Graz. He is networked in numerous regional, national and international platforms and initiatives. Among other things, he has been Chairman of ESBS "Electronics and Software Based Systems" Austria since 2019, R&D Spokesman of the Industry 4.0 platform since 2014 and Head of the R&D Industry Forum of IV Steiermark since 2012.
