Simplifying hardware-based security without compromising on performance and reliability with Integrity Guard 32
Centerpiece of modern cybersecurity architecture
In our increasingly digital and connected world, it is more important than ever that sensitive data is processed and stored securely. Secured identities allow information to be exchanged through trusted sources and protect our privacy. Secured authentication between connected devices and the cloud provides confidence that only authorised parties have access to sensitive data. However, privacy and secured authentication solutions face a rapidly evolving threat landscape. Cybercriminals are using increasingly sophisticated attacks based on quantum computing, AI and other technologies. In addition, extensive attack knowledge and ready-to-use tools are easily available online.
Infineon’s answer to these complex security requirements is Integrity Guard 32: the future-proof security architecture includes highly effective fault detection and a self-contained and self-checking dual CPU system.
Integrity Guard 32 – the answer to the rising security challenges of today and tomorrow
Integrity Guard 32 features highly efficient error detection and a self-contained, self-checking dual-CPU system. With its update capability, it is the answer to future security requirements, accelerates certification processes and enables a higher level of security without compromising on performance or reliability
At the heart of the architecture is a dual CPU core. If one of the CPUs is affected by a fault attack, the second CPU is able to recognize the event immediately and take action. If an attack on both CPUs is detected or another alarm occurs, the chip shuts down immediately.
If data in one of the system memories is changed by a cyber-attack, the Integrity Guards 32 error code check can either repair the data or trigger an alarm. In addition, the content of all system memories is fully encrypted. Even if an attacker succeeds in reading this data, they will not be able to understand the information. This effectively prevents the disclosure of secrets.
