Washing and drying
Products for compact, robust and reliable systems with less power consumption and modern touch user interfaces
Smart, powerful, energy- and water-saving: Today’s washers and dryers have to meet a growing list of requirements. Quiet operation plays an important role in the private household environment. Features like stable and smooth start-stop operation, a variety of washing machine programs to optimize water and detergent consumption, and vibration suppression round out the list of must-haves. In addition, appliances must integrate easily and securely with a home automation network to enable remote control and condition monitoring.
Matching semiconductor solutions must also be energy efficient and enable size reduction. System solution proposals offer proven integration, comprehensive features, and strong protection while shortening time-to-market. Last but not least, excellent price/performance is critical, as are new features that support new smart appliance designs.

Washing machine system components from Infineon
Infineon offers a comprehensive portfolio for inverterized washing machine drums and drain pumps, but also for heat pumps and drums in dryers. Whether you choose the highest level of integration with our Intelligent Power Modules (IPM) or aim for the best price/performance ratio with discrete components, our IGBTs, MOSFETs, EiceDRIVER™ gate driver ICs, and microcontrollers are designed to work together seamlessly.
This allows you to create smoother running systems with low power consumption and a smaller form factor. Infineon enables compact, robust and reliable systems, with less power consumption and a modern touch user interface. CIPOS™ IPMs are the optimal solution for drum motor drives and heat pump compressors, providing robustness and high power density. The energy-efficient CIPOS™ modules integrate various power and control components to increase reliability, optimize board size and reduce system costs. This simplifies power supply design and shortens time-to-market.
PSoC® 6 microcontrollers, AIROC™ Wi-Fi & Combos connectivity products, and XENSIV™ sensors enable you to build smart home appliances while providing secure data acquisition, control, and device connectivity. Infineon offers the OPTIGA™ Trust hardware security solution and enables secure access to all major cloud providers. For the auxiliary power supply, the CoolSET ™ rounds up our power portfolio by offering increased robustness and performance.
PSoC® 6 microcontrollers (MCUs) bridge the gap between expensive, power-hungry application processors and low integration microcontrollers. The ultra-low-power PSoC® 6 MCU features an Arm® Cortex® M4 for high-performance AI/ML tasks such as _FP match algorithm, TFT LCD driver, voice recognition and motor control, and an Arm® Cortex® M0+ for low power tasks System control, BLE, Capsense or security processing. With built-in security, your IoT system is protected. The built-in Capsense technology allows you to easily implement robust touch control of buttons or displays.
Our AIROC™ Wi-Fi & Combos integrate IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax WLAN and Bluetooth® 5.x in a single-chip solution to enable small-form-factor IoT designs for long-range connectivity. The combo solutions are available for both 1x1 SISO with up to 600 Mbps PHY data rates and 2x2 MIMO with up to 1.2 Gbps PHY data rates. These solutions can be coupled with external MCUs from popular vendors or Linux on application processors to implement a complete Wi-Fi + Bluetooth® system.
Infineon’s CIPOS™ IPM products, Trenchstop IGBTs, CoolMOS MOSFETs, and EiceDRIVER™ gate driver ICs, combined with iMOTION™, XMC™ or PSoC® motor controllers enable highly compact, robust, and reliable systems that consume less power.
AIROC™ Wi-Fi & Combos products, XENSIV™ sensors, and PSOC microcontrollers offer a rich user interface, intuitive control, and connectivity. The energy-efficient CIPOS™ modules integrate various power and control components to increase reliability, optimize PCB size and reduce system costs. This simplifies power design and reduces time-to-market.
The OPTIGA™ Trust product family offers a full range of turnkey security solutions: OPTIGA™ Trust B is designed to help system and device manufacturers ensure the authenticity, integrity, and security of their original products providing a unique device identifier. It enables extremely flexible, high-performance, and secured access to all major cloud providers. OPTIGA™ Trust M is a high-end security solution optimized for stand-alone, with pre-conditioned keys, none cloud based security.
Our EiceDRIVER™ gate drivers are ideal for small and major home appliances. They offer advanced features such as integrated bootstrap diode (BSD), overcurrent protection, shutdown, fault indication, enable, input filter, OPAMP, DESAT, programmable dead time, shoot-through protection, active Miller clamp, active shutdown, separate sink and source outputs, short circuit clamping, soft shutdown, two-stage shutdown, galvanic isolation (functional, single and reinforced).
Infineon's latest generation of fixed frequency CoolSET™ AC-DC integrated power stages with quasi-resonant switching scheme offers increased robustness and excellent performance. Infineon's fixed frequency CoolSET™ offers higher efficiency and lower switching frequency at medium and light loads, enabled by an integrated frequency step-down.
